Information for Patients
Records Appointment
If treatment is required, a Records Appointment will follow the Initial Exam. At this appointment, photographs of the face and teeth will be taken along with molds of the teeth and x-rays. Occasionally, an x-ray of your child’s hand will be required to assess your child’s expected growth and its potential impact on the treatment options. The Records Appointment takes about one hour to complete.
Consult Appointment
At the consult appointment, Dr. Ball will highlight areas of concern and discuss the treatment options. Detailed information about the orthodontic treatment plan will be provided and we will outline what to expect during orthodontic treatment as well as payment options. This appointment is usually an hour in length.

Initial Exam
At the initial exam the patient, or the parent if the patient is a minor, will be asked to fill out a medical questionnaire. Dr. Ball will then carry out an assessment and advise you if orthodontic treatment is required. If no treatment is required at this time your child may be placed on a recall schedule to be seen again in six to twelve months. If orthodontic treatment is required, Dr. Ball will discuss it with you in general terms and we will book the Records and Consult appointments. The Initial Exam appointment is usually 15-20 minutes long.
